Towns and places

TOWNS AND PLACES

A) I was born in Spišská Nová Ves, and therefore Spišská Nová Ves is my birthplace. It is one of the most important places in my life and it is connected with many happy memories from my childhood, with my parents and brother, with my friends and first loves. People are usually connected with their birthplace and they return there whenever they can. Probably I will get to know this reality in few years, becauce now I live here, with my family.
The place of my studies is also Spišská Nová Ves. At first, I attended the local basic school and now I end my studies at the local secondary grammar school. The next place of my studies will be Bratislava. (I really strongly hope so.)

The place where I spent most weekends and holidays, is Košice. Košice means for me very much. Almost the second home, if I can say such a strong expression. Another place, where I enjoyed my holiday, is Krokava connected with unforgettable camp called LETAVY. Letavy means summer camp of artists.

B)
Welcome to the wonderful town of Spišská Nová Ves. My name is ............ and I will guide you during this stay. Your stay will last three days and during that time you will be accommodated here - at hotel Metropol. Today, we will go and see the theatre building called Reduta, then a climb to the church tower is planned and finally we will go to the Town hall. The programme for the next three days is written on the table over there. Now you have got 3 hours to accomodate, have a shower or a nap. We will meet right here at 11 o’clock. The receptionist will tell you the numbers of your rooms. See you in 3 hours!

C)
Although Slovakia is not very big country, it has a lot of natural beauties and monuments and sights. Our spas (Piešťany, Trenčianske Teplice, Bardejov, Smrdáky, Lúčky, Sliač, Dudince..) have got high reputation not only in our country. Tourists also like to see our mountains, caves (Dobšinská ice cave, Demänovská dripstone cave), castles (Spiš castle), fortresses (Devín, Bojnice, Topoľčianky Krásna Hôrka, Trenčín). You can admire here many nice towns. For example Trnava has got many nice baroque churches and an old university. Trnava is called also „The slovak Rome“. There are many other famous towns, for example Banská Štiavnica, Levoča or Bratislava, which is also the capital of the Slovak republic.

D)
If you want to find a place, where to spend your free time, you should decide if you want to spend it in an active or passive way. If you want to idle (leňošiť), the best solution is going to the cinema or to the winter or a footbal stadium to see the match and relax. If you want to be active, go to the leisure or sport centres, to the swimming pool or to the nature with bicycles. If you want to feed your soul, go to the library, ballet, opera or theatre and enjoy the aestethical experience.

E)
Place of my dreams:
Place of my dreams is on this planet. Earth is interesting enough to be a place of someone’s dreams because of its variety of cultures and landscapes. If only the peace was all over the world. Then any place could be a place of someone’s dreams. This year I was in Low Tatras for 6 days. If only you saw that beauty! I couldn’t be angry with anyone, I couldn’t be worried, unhappy or unsatisfied. I just couldn’t. One view on wonderful hills, which braided (vpletať sa) in each other was enough to warm the heart, to cheer the mind and the soul. The nature was so beautiful, that it took me the breath. I wish you had been there with me and had seen it. This is the nicest place, I have ever seen. This place made me a better person. This is the place of my dreams.
