COMMUNICATION AND ITS FORMS
Communication is way how people can express their feelings, opinions, ideas and needs.
1.What are the main differences between the communication of people and animals?
PEOPLE: People begins use their language (system of sound,words etc.) to communicate thoughts and feelings. People have words - so we speak using words. People can communicate by body, eyes, gestures, touches, sounds, colors on their clothes, their colors on face - red=shy,angry, white -shocked,ill, smells, dance, music, song, arts, pictures.
ANIMALS: They don´t use words, but they have different languages. They make sounds, movements(pohyby), use and change colors and smells. Animals have ways of exchanging information too. Bees dance and tell other bees where to find food. Elephants make sounds that humans can´t hear. Whales sing songs. Monkeys use their faces to show anger and love. Whales sing songs.
WHY?:PEOPLE: They want to socialize with other people, because of education, get and exchange information, they want to reproduction, they want to share plans, ideas, they want to eat, drink,warn todanger.
ANIMALS: They want to tell other about danger, they want to eat food, drink, they want to reproduction(rozmnožovanie), because of education , they want to protect territories, young ones(mláďatá).
2.Talking about people, what are the different kinds of communication, do we have always need words to express ourselves?
Human communication is VERBAL(we use words) and NONVERBAL(body movements).
- VERBAL – we use words. It is spoken language. There exist about 6000 languages in the world.
Verbal communication can be: SPOKEN and WRITTEN.
SPOKEN - the spoken word is usually face to face. People can ask questions, talk about the past, the present, and the future. It is traditional ways of communication. We use also non-verbal communication. It is very fast, we answer immediately. It is in real time and real place. During spoken communication people use their voice - it is very important. Very often people use fillers(slovné barličky). People can make promises, explain, persuade, tell lies or truth.
WRITTEN - It is very slow. You must use punctuation and vocabulary. You must choose correct words. Before you start writing you must prepare and think about text. It should be well-organized, then you must have right grammar, you must use correct vocabulary and you must be very accurate(svedomitý). It is excellent form for recording fact, book, knowledge this is the reason why you must be accurate. People write letters, emails, postcards, notes and so on. The communicator has more time to write down his/her thoughts.
SPOKEN AND WRITTEN CAN BE DIVIDED IN: -Formal and Informal
FORMAL - We should speak formal in public places where are a lot of strange people, in job, school, restaurant, shop, at doctor, in bank, travel agency, library, police, parlament, massmedia, cinema, theatre, museum.
INFORMAL - We speak informal with friend, with family at home, in waiting rooms, bars. We use informal words - connected with swearwords, slangs, dialegs, special vocabulary. You can use symbols, pictographs, smiles.
- NONVERBAL - We use body language, facial expressions, gestures, colors(for example red-means passion,energy, black-we wear black colours when someone died, green-hope,calm), sounds, symbols, pictograms, signs, touches, mimics. But it is different in many cultures. People who are mute-deaf use the sign language(posunkovú reč).
3.What are modern ways of communication? What are their advantages and disadvantages?
We have a few modern technologies used for communication: Internet, Printing machine, Radio and Television, Camera, Modern media: phone, mobile phone, fax, e-mail.
INTERNET - + It is very fast and comfortable. - see, write with people who are abroad, find informations about e-shops, find jobs, famous people, news about word, read books, listen to the radio, watch TV, films, videos, play games, have different aplications, open your e-mail addresse, chat on social sites - Facebook, Twitter, write projects, essays, notes, pay bills by
e-banking, book holiday, trip, exkursions, book anything, can do shopping, find new friends, make album of pictures.
- People can be addictive on Internet. It is not personal communication, it is dangerous for children, people doesn´t meet, small vocabulary, problems with eyes, can be overweight, have to pay every month, destroy your information, there are many unseasonable websites(nevhodné), heckers can misuse your personal informations(zneužiť), don´t know how communicate, socialize problems, not everybody on Internet is serious.
MOBILE PHONES - + are very fast, can have it everywhere with you, you can always call first aid, police, call in other country, play games, take photos, chat on Internet, find radiostations, make high-quality videos, send messages, have calculator, alarm clock, calendar, navigation, write notes, show time, safe time.
- You can lose mobile phone, lose a lot of personal informations, misuse informations, if you use it so much, you lose personal contact and you can be addictive, you have to pay every month, spend a lot of time(tráviť), it is very dangerous for health.
4.Speak about your favourite way of communication into details, mentioning advantages which it brings to you.
My favourite way of communication is verbal communication because I can see people,It is face to face. I like it because I can ask questions and I have the answer immediately and when my friend doesn´t understand my ideas I can explain it once again. But I also often use Internet and mobile phone because I am in touch with my friends and family who live far away from me.
