The Slovak natural and cultural herritage

Heritage, as natural as cultural, is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration. World is full of artefacts like this and organisations for their protection have in this time global character. One of these organisations is UNESCO.

UNESCO

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was founded on 16 November 1945. Its ambition is to build peace in the minds of men. The Organization also serves as a clearing house – for the dissemination and sharing of information and knowledge.

UNESCO promotes international co-operation among its 193 Member States and six Associate Members in the fields of education, science, culture and communication.

UNESCO is specialized agency for education. Since its creation in 1945, the Organization has worked to improve education worldwide. UNESCO believes that education is key to social and economic development.
