The invention I cannot imagine my life without

Mankind has come a long way during its existence. In pre-historic times, people´s lives and their needs were simple – everything needed for life was at hand. People hunted for food, and made tools from stones and simple clothes to protect them from the cold. The only tool they had was the human hand, and it was an excellent tool. Step by step, people started changing the world, tried to make their lives easier and more comfortable.

They invented the wheel to transporting goods and materials. They learnt how to use water and wind for energy and built water and wind mills. Important discoveries and inventions came in the 15th and 16th centuries – discovery new continents; developments in the true sciences like astronomy, philosophy, medicine and biology. The mankind started a road of progress and invented many inventions. But which invention is the most important?

We can inventions divide into categories like:

• Medical: penicillin, antibiotics,…
• Communications: TV, internet, phones,…
• Productivity: computers, assembly lines,…
• Financial: credit cards,…
• Food storage or preparation: refrigerator, microwave,...
• Household: washing machine, vacuum cleaner,…

It is hard to find answer to this question. Everybody of us can have own opinion.

I think that very important is electricity. Most of the inventions couldn’t work without electricity. Thomas Edison developed the electric light. Edison's achievement was not just an electric light, but also an electric lighting system to make the light practical, safe, and economical. There are many invention like computers, satellites, phones, Tv, and other which help to people in everyday life. These new technologies are everywhere, even surrounding us at home or in work. But they have common one characteristic. They do not work without electricity. Some people don´t imagine life without these inventions. And everybody of us want to eat. We have to produce many food to not to be hungry. These food is produced in big factories with technologies, which need elektricity. Thanks to Edison we can take advantage of electricity around the whole world nearly everybody, everyday and everywhere.

Another invention on the list can be antibiotics. There’s not a single invention in history that help to improve quality of our lives. Three centuries ago almost everyone died of infectious diseases. The plagues killed nearly everyone. When diseases such as smallpox reached in North America, many people died. Or tuberculosis. Hardly anyone died in old age. Today, it isn’t surprising to suffer these diseases without problems thanks antibiotics. They help us to be healthy. Antibiotics save our lives and they are inseparable part of being.

I don´t know which invention is the most important. I´m sure that all inventions are important for human being. But everyone has own oppinion about its importance.
