English is a mother toungue for most people living in the Unites States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zeland and Australia.

Great Britain comprises England, Wales and Scotland. Together with Northern Ireland it forms the United Kingdom. It includes four nations: English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh. They are famous for their politeness, self – discipline and reliability. They like sport, football, golf und tenis.

Scotland is a country where special traditions are keept, sucha as playing bagpipes. There are many whisky destilleries witch a long traditions.

Wales is rich in culture and history. The Welsh people are know for their love of music and poetry.

Northern Ireland lies on the north of the islad of Ireland. The Irish people are friendly, they like music and dancing.

England is divided into 36 counties. The capital city of England is London. On the River Thames, there is Tower Bridge and the Towe visited by many tourists. Another place of interest for visitors to London is Buckingham Palace, the London residence of the British royal family. Constists of queen Elizabeth second and her soons Wiliam and Charles. The most famous streets for its shops Bond street, Oxford street and Picadilly.

The United states of America is a federation of 50 states including Alaska and the Island state of Hawai. The most densely populated are the states of New York, Pennsylwania, Ohio and Michigan. There are the most important cities New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia and the biggest insdustrial centres Chicago and Detroit. In January 2009, Barrack Obama became first Afro-american president of the USA. New York city is the largest city in the USA. The Statue of Liberty stands with its torch in New York City. The Statue symbolises freedom and democracy. Washington DC is the capital city of the USA. There are the gonverment buildings, such as the White House, the official residence of the USA.

Canada is the second largest country in the world. All the largest cities e.g. Montreal, Toronto, Vancouer, Ottawa (capital). The standard of living is very high there. Canada is divided into ten province and two national territories. Canada is including materials gold, silver, nickel.

Australia is an Island continent. The Capital Canberra is the seat of the Federal Parlament, which consists of two houses, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Sydney is the largest city. Sydney is rich in parks and also has the Royal Botanic garden.

New Zeland is an Island country in the Pacific situated south – east of Australia. The Moaris are the original inhabitants of New Zeland who nearly all live in North Island.
