Housing

You can see several types of city, village and traditional houses. Name them and say which of them you would like to live in. Give reasons.

I can see different types of houses in the pictures.

Picture 1 is a cottage or cab, Picture 2 is a bungalow, Picture 3 is a detached house, Picture 4 is a semi-detached house, Picture 5 are terraced houses, Picture 6 is a tent, Picture 7 is an igloo and Picture 8 is a block of flats.

I would like to live in a detached house with a garden because it´s very comfortable. I´d like to grow vegetables, fruits and flowers. I´d like to have a swimming pool.

2. Description of my own room, house or flat.

I live in a block of flats. We have a three-room flat. We have a living room, bedroom, child room, kitchen and bathroom in our flat. I share my room with my younger sister. We have here 2 beds, a bookcase, a desk with 2 chairs, a wardrobe. There is a carpet on the floor and blinds on the windows. There are also pictures and posters on the walls. The walls are of green colour. We have a PC and TV in our room.

I live in a detached hous. We have 5 rooms in our house: living room, bedroom, 2 child rooms, my father´s study, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets. We have a big garden. My parents like gardening but I don´t.

Furnishing and equipment of my future kitchen.

My future kitchen will be large and well equipped. There will be: cupboards, a sink, a cooker, a microwave, a fridge. There will be also a table with chairs or stools, a vase with flowers. I´ll have pictutres on the walls. I´ll have modern gadgets e.g.: mixer, blinder, coffee machine, electric kettle (jug kettle), toaster. In the cupboard I´ll have cups, plates, glasses, knives, spoons, forks. I like cooking so I´ll spend a lot of time here.

Pros and cons of living in the town/country and my choice.

There are many reasons why people prefer to live in a town. It´s easier to find a job in a big town than in a village. In big towns there are also universities. This is why many young people move to the cities. They want to study and find a good job. Children can go to the playgrounds or parks. They can go to the cinema or a museum. They can play many sports and games and they can go to language classes or dance lessons. There are many shops and shopping centres in cities, also services and places of entertainment e.g. bars, cinemas, clubs, pubs etc.

On the other hand there are people who live in villages. People in a village are more polite, they help each other, they have a garden and animals. But there are not many shops, schools, sporting and cultural facilities.

I´d like to live in a town or big city because I like many people around me.

I´d like to live in a village because I love countryside with fresh air and water.

The house of my dreams, its position, size, furnishings.

My dream house will be in a village. I want to have a detached house with a garden and swimming pool. (vlastne popísať miestnosti a zariadenie z prvej a druhej časti)

The ways how to get money for building such a house.

Nowadays it´s difficult to buy or build a house because everything is very expensive. I can go to the bank and ask for a loan or mortgage. Then I must pay back the money to the bank for many years. Or I can borrow money from my friends or family.

Simulation

You are going to share a flat/house with your friends. What house rules would you set and how would you share the household chores?

We must set rules that everybody agrees with. Like: tidying up, going with a dust bin, vaccuming(hoovering), filling the fridge, cooking, using bathroom, having visits, watching TV, listening to music.

Everybody has to clean his own room and kitchen with bathroom we must clean regularly.
