Education – sloh

Education is very important for a life. Education in Slovakia has these stages: pre – schol education, primary schools, secondary schools and universities.

1, Pree – schools education – it includes nursery schools and kindegartens. They are for children from 3 to 6 years old. Children play games.

2,Primary schools – children start attending primary schools, when they are 6 years old and finish when they are 15 years old. The children at primary schools study these subjects: physics, Slovak language, geography, mathematics, history..

3, Secondary schools – it usually takes from 3 to 4 years to complete secondary education. To complete secondary education you have to pass the schol-leaving exam called maturita. They can choose one of the following secondary schools:

• Grammar schools
• Special schools : they include – technical colleges, business academies, music and art schools, vocational schools.

4, Universities – if we pass the entrance exam, we can go to a university. The university study takes from 4 to 6 years. When you sucessfully finish university, we get a diplom. For example: Bachelor´s Degree – Bc. , Master´s Degree – Mgr.
