  1. a) dôležité miesta v mojom živote (rodisko, miesto štúdií, miesto trávenia víkendov a prázdnin)

    c) turisticky zaujímavé miesta (hrady, zámky, kúpele, jaskyne) a mestá

There are many different places all over the world. There are large cities like Tokyo, New York, Mexico city, where the life is fast. People in these modern cities cannot imagine life without modern inventions like a mobile phone, TV, public traffic. Many people who live in a big city are rich and they live in beautiful big hauses and villas with big gardens and drive expensive cars. Other people who live in big cities, but who are not so rich, live in blocks of flats /or apartments/ and travel by public traffic.

On the other hand, there are people who live far away from civilization –for example like Siberia, the Amazon Jungle and so on. People in these places live simple life. They usually don’t have a TV or other important inventions. Some of them live in simple wooden houses and cottages and work on their field – they grow plants, fruit, vegetables and so on. They are not as well educated as people in big cities, because there are not many schools. But these people are usually happy, generous /štedrí/ and hospitable /pohostinní/. They are satisfied with their way of life and they have their own customs and traditions, which are important to them.

Birthplace is a place where I was born. I was born in Presov, so all my life is connected to this town. I have my friends and family there. I go to school there. I spend much of my leisure time there. It is a place where I live, where I feel good.

There is difference between living in the town and living in the village.

Living in towns and cities has some advantages and disadvantages. On one side there are many possibilities for jobs, education, sports, social and cultural life (you can enjoy the cultural life – you can go the the cinema, to the theatre, to the fitness centre or a swimming pool). You can go out and have a dinner in a restaurant. People can visit cafes, pubs and night clubs. There are many shops and hospitals, too. City is more dangerous than village and there is a lot of mess and dirt in the streets (city is usually dirty), city is noisy (hlučné). Living in a village has some advantages and disadvantages too. Advantages are for example that in a village there is quite. In summer you can go out for a walk to the forest or you can just sit in the garden, read a book or relax. Disadvantages are for example that sometimes you have to travel to the town if you work or go to school there, because in a village there is no high school or univesities and many possibilities for jobs. Someone think that live in a village can be boring because there are no cultural life (no cinemas, theatres, swimming pools)
