I can see four seasons of the year in the pictures. The first one is spring, second is winter, third – summer and the last one is autumn.

2 What is the countryside like in spring?

I love spring. Awakening nature makes everything green and fresh. There is everywhere joy and hope in the air. It´s also the time of Easter (hovoriť o Veľkej noci). The snow is melting. You can put off your boots, coats and anoraks and put on something lighter. The weather gets warmer and there is more and more sunshine. The weather in April is changeable. You often need raincoat and umbrella.

What spring flowers you can name?

Nature begins to awake from its winter sleep and new life begins in spring. In gardens and woods new flowers appear: white snowdrops, yellow marsh marigolds, dandelions, daffodils, blue forget-me-nots, crocuses and tulips, purple violets and catkins.

What kind of birds do you know?

Also birds start singing again in spring. Swallows, starlings, cuckoos, larks.

What kind of weather is typical for summer?

I love summer and I think there are very few people who don´t. It´s a time of holiday adventures. You probably travel and meet friends and relatives more often than in any other season of the year. We change jackets and jumpers into T-shirts, swimming suits and shorts and flip-flops.The weather is usually hot and sunny and the temperatures are rather high.

School children love this season becaue they have two months of holiday. As for weather – strong wind and storm sometimes come with thunders and lightnings and a heavy downpour. But after the storm, a rainbow can appear in the sky. We can do many summer sports, such as: cycling, hiking, swimming. We can play tennis and badminton. Girls like sunbathing on the beach.

How does the weather change in autumn?

At the beginning of September the school year begins and autumn comes. In autumn the sun sets earlier and days get shorter. The world around you calms down and nature gets sleepy. The trees are colourful and we can enjoy a few days of Indian summer. But later the weather is rainy and foggy. Some birds leave the country and fly to the south. We put on sweaters, cardigans and jackets because the weather becomes colder and colder.

What kind of fruit and vegetable do we harvest in autumn?

Autumn is the time of harvest in the gardens. We pick apples, pears, plums and grapes. We gather potatoes and sugar beet. I don´t like gardening but I must help my parents in the garden.

What is typical winter weather like?

According to the calendar winter comes in December but in fact it´s often earlier. Typical winter brings snow, icy wind and frosts. Temperatures are below zero. We can go skiing to the mountains (pohovoriť o zimných športoch). Children build snowmen and throw snowballs. People also like winter because of Christmas. (povedať o Vianociach).

Why is dangerous to drive in winter?

It´s dangerous to driver in winter because it snows, it´s foggy and roads are icy and slippery. There are many accidents on the roads in winter. We must drive carefully and keep the speed limit.

What is the weather like today? Tell us how the weather influences your mood, health. How can the weather spoil a trip or holiday?

 Today is sunny/rainy/cloudy. Temperatures are............ above zero. It´s rather hot/cold.

I´m a very sensible person as for weather. When it´s sunny I´m happy. When it´s raining and it´s cloudy I´m sad and not in a good mood. When the weather is cold I ´m often ill (povedať choroby a príznaky z Health Care).

The weather can also spoil our trip or holiday. E.g. If we go skiing in winter and there is no snow in the mountains or if you go on summer holiday and it´s still raining. We can´t go swimming and sunbathing.
