Suzanne Collins

Suzanne Collins was born on August 10, 1962 in Hartford. Suzanne is an American television writer and novelist, best known as the author of The New York Times best selling series The Underland Chronicles and The Hunger Games trilogy (which consists of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay).

Collins' career began in 1991 as a writer for children's television shows. She worked on several television shows for Nickelodeon. Her first book was Gregor the Overlander. Her next series, The Hunger Games Trilogy (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay), is an international bestseller. The Hunger Games was first published on September 14, 2008.

The story of Hunger games takes place in the remote future and all takes place in the state Panem, Panem is located in the former North America. Capital city of Panem is Capitol surrounded by thirteen counties. Capitol has government of everyone counties. Everyone of thirteen counties are trying to revolt against the Capitol, twelve of counties was defeated and thirteenth was destroyed. After revolution they got a penalty in the form of Hunger Games. Hunger Games is game with very simple main rule- stay alive.

Of everyone counties has been selected one boy and one girl, called tributes, who will jailed in the arena of death. Tributes must fight for their life. Seventieth fourth Hunger Games are not normally for Katniss Everdeen (the main character), because her sister Prim was been selected and she wanted to go to the arena for Prim .
