Compassion for Charity

Being a part of this world, and its society means bearing its positive and negative effects. Daily, we meet people living under horrific circumstances. When something bad happens to, we have the tendency to ask why it happened concretely to us. The irony rests in the fact that thanks to people, the world and its population is in such a bad state.

The weight on our shoulders, which we suffer from, gets heavier everyday. What we try to do, to make it easy is helping other people through charity. Charity is considered to be the easiest way of helping people. The charity work is a type of a financial donation to, either individuals, or groups of people and occasionally to states or nations.

In general, there aren’t many differences between organizations specialized in charity work. They mostly differ in their focus of activity. This means they can focus on helping animals all around the work, or people living in the third world countries as well. The next marker of difference is their point of interest, which means if they donate the money to the state they exist in or the money is used to help people living abroad.

Charity organizations are, as a rule, non-profitable organizations. All of the money donated from their clients is used to support people living in poor status. In Slovakia one charity organization towers above most of local organizations, its name is Good Angel. Good Angel focuses on supporting families or not consistent families which are not able to bring up their children in proper conditions.

What is more and very specific for Good Angel is that, they arrange a gathering, where they gather money and invest them into expensive medical machines and then present it to hospitals where they are needed. I think it is needless to say that they also support children and teenagers suffering from deadly illnesses such as cancer, not only that, but they also invest money into the research for the cure.

What most of the people find very interesting is the fact that, British novelist, poet and also fighter pilot Roald Dahl donated large amount of his money to charity. His constant donations throughout his life resulted in establishing Roald Dahl´s Marvellous Children´s Charity, which, as you can say from its title, financially supports seriously ill children and young adults, so that they can live a happy and satisfying life. Dahl´s Marvellous Children´s Charity was inspired by the author himself and mostly by his books for children. The charity has its tradition in giving their young clients Dahl´s early works for children, where they can seek motivation and inspiration.

Unfortunately, every coin has two sides, and so does the charity work. As I have mentioned at the beginning, each of us, has their own private problems. Some of us solve these problems by turning compassion for charity into compassion for money. This is when we hear about a charity organizations which should, but did not donate the money, instead of that; they kept the money for themselves.

Either, we support each other, through charity or somehow else, or we end up having even more problems, with even more serious conclusions. It is natural, that not everyone is able to donate money, but we are all able to help because if we do a favor for someone else, it is as we have done a favor for ourselves.
