My „dream“ essay

My „dream“ essay

Since childhood, it has been my dream to become a veterinarian. I have always admired people who help animals in need and as I was growing up my attitude was becoming more serious. Now, I am ready to make that dream come true.

The decision to become a vet is motivated by my desire to help sick animals but also to take care of them. Veterinary medicine is very important and irreplaceable too. It is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis of disease, disorder and injury on animals. The scope of veterinary medicine is wide, covering all animal species both domesticated and wild.

A veterinarian must have compassion for both animals and people and possess strong communication skills because every animal comes with an owner. As a vet, you have to be prepared for any situation. Veterinarians must handle failure, loss, angry clients and often neglected animals. Although it is a difficult job, it is also beautiful one.

It is not the job that you do only for money, you do it because you enjoy saving animals. I believe there is no greater power than the one that gives you the chance to make something good for the world. But this job has a dark side, in my opinion.

Veterinarians sometimes have to consider the appropriateness of euthanasia ("putting to sleep") if a condition is likely to leave the animal in pain or with a poor quality of life, or if treatment of a condition is likely to cause more harm than good. They must be willing to advise clients the decisions that will have significant financial and emotional impact.

In conclusion, every person has the right to choose his future to do what he likes. I am aware that this way is hard to achieve but I will fight as much as I have to reach my goal. I have just one life and I am not going to waste it.
