The Global Pandemic

Our current situation is not pleasant to anyone and it is extremely difficult to deal with. Whether we are speaking about school, work, society or health reasons it is not only incon- venient, but it restricts people’s freedom to go out and the constant worry of coming into contact with someone infected is problematic to the whole world.

The government had to take drastic measurements that require us to be extremely mindful as of our own safety and that of everyone’s. Of course, not everyone abides by the rules.

The restrictions we have to follow whenever we go outside are wearing face masks all the time, gloves inside the shops and being thoughtful of not touching our mouth, nose or eyes in public. One of many priorities that we have to keep up everytime we come home is washing out hands very thoroughly.

This situation makes it complicated for the school systems. Since students cannot travel to school, we have to study from home. Some might even call it being homeschooled. Throughout the week we get many assignments from out professors giving us materials to work with and hand it over before the deadline.

As anyone can guess, homeschooling without having an actual feedback from your teacher can be as dreadful as it can get. The- re are specific subjects that are easy to wrap your head around, but Chemistry or grammar in Slovak language can be difficult to self-teach. My thoughts on this system are not as positive as they could be.

When it comes to my opinion on this matter in general, I have to say that it just makes pe- ople distant. Not everyone, no, but I’ve only encountered people who are not as friendly as I would hope during this pandemic.

Even hostile about breaching even a centimeter inside their personal space if I can say so. Sure, some may be helping our elders with shopping duties, but certain people are behaving selfishly. It is not going to be serene to come back to our old ways after all of this goes away.
